On July 11, the competition for the sixth stage of the 2025 "ICBC Cup" 24th Tour of America Qinghai International Road Cycling Race from Gangcha to Gonghe ended.

In this stage, the main car group marched along the Qinghai Lake Ring Road. The Phoenix Phoenix-SCOM-Hengxiang Intercontinental Team showed its best competitive state. Cyrus broke through for six consecutive stages for a long time, and finished the race in the first place among the Chinese riders. The Hengxiang drivers’ performances were full of highlights. The Jiedao Super basically locked the best overall score of the Chinese drivers participating in this round of the lake race.

Stage review

This stage is 232.7 kilometers long, with a maximum altitude of about 3,700 meters. After passing through the four sprint points on the way around Qinghai Lake, namely Shengquan Bay, Bird Island, Donggeer Scenic Area, and Jiangxigou, the vehicles will face the most strategic challenge. The special grade climbing point at 191.8km - Nanshan Luohe Pass, with an altitude of 3740 meters.

Cyrus successfully joined the four-man breakout group in this stage and maintained his advantage all the way around the lake for 170 kilometers. He was caught up by the large group on the HC grade climb at Luohe Pass. The four of them once led the main group of cars for more than 10 minutes and competed fiercely on the bank of Qinghai Lake.

At the Luohe Pass, the main car group split into several small groups. The 8-member Huang Shirt group launched an attack, and the main car group chased behind them. Jie Daochao was only the first small group behind the main car group, becoming the Chinese driver with the best performance on the hill climb section. After Cyrus Monk was recovered by the main car group, he joined Jie Daochao during the climbing stage and gave Jie Daochao all the help he could.

In this stage, the Chinese driver Xie Daochao still maintained a stable performance. After just a few days of experience, his ability to read international events has improved by leaps and bounds in a short period of time. He has gradually cooperated with his teammates and has been recognized by his teammates and affirmed by the team manager Li Fuyu.

The three team members Māris Bogdanovičs, Aleksandr Shakotko, and Ilya Karabutov also successfully completed the team's tasks and completed the race safely.
