On the morning of September 4, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Tour of Shanghai New Town was held grandly at No. 3 Yacht Pier on the Bund, Shanghai. With the theme of "Riding in New Towns, Shanghai Moving into the Future", this event attracted more than 20 top teams from home and abroad to compete in Shanghai's five new towns and compete for the championship.

Phoenix Phoenix Scom Hengxiang Intercontinental Team appeared at the opening ceremony as the official specially invited intercontinental team and became the focus of the audience. This event has been fully upgraded to the International Cycling Union (UCI) 2.2 level, becoming the first men's road cycling event in Shanghai to join the UCI Asian Tour system.
