Tour of Great America Qinghai STAGE 8 | The final battle witnessed the glory of the Chinese driver’s first place

On July 13, the eighth stage of the 2025 "ICBC Cup" 24th Tour of America Qinghai International Road Cycling Race ushered in the final race around Baoshan. The Atomic City Memorial Hall at the end of the race witnessed the successful conclusion of this Tour of America.

After seven days of high-intensity battle, the riders came to the final stage - the Tongbaoshan Circle Race. This stage has a total of 121 kilometers, with a level 3 climbing point and three sprint points on the way. The climbing point is located at Wendu Pass, 25.8km from the starting point. The 800-meter climbing altitude greatly reduces the difficulty of the stage. The three sprint points along the way bring some variables to the final result. Overall, the final Tongbaoshan stage was relatively low-difficulty, officially marking a successful conclusion to the eight-day high-intensity road cycling race.

Due to the battle for the yellow jersey and the overall ranking, the final stage was still tense and the overall speed was very fast. In the end, the riders of the Phoenix Phoenix-SCOM-Hengxiang Intercontinental Team ensured that the Chinese rider Xie Daochao won the first place in the Chinese side, and all members finished the race safely. In the overall ranking list, Phoenix Phoenix-SCOM-Hengxiang Intercontinental Team driver Xie Daochao ended his trip to Qinghai as the first Chinese player.

After the event, team coach Li Fuyu said: "The difficulty of this race is very high. Due to the high altitude and plateau weather, the riders will face challenges from various extreme environments such as hypoxia and high cold. Fortunately, the team members overcame it and finished the race safely." At the same time, Li Fuyu also said; "There are so many experts and strong teams in this event. We have the opportunity to compete with these world's top teams and players. It is a rare learning opportunity for us. In the future, we will need to conduct longer altitude training in advance to compete for better results in this type of competition."

Speaking of the performance of the team members this time, Li Fuyu was very surprised and said: "I am very pleased that our team's young player Xie Daochao performed very well in this competition, ranking first among Chinese drivers in the overall score. What's more important is that he has improved in every stage and is very malleable. I hope he can perform better in the future."

Subsequently, the team will prepare for the 2025 China Tibet Sixth Trans-Himalayan International Road Cycling Extreme Race in early August.
