The 16th Tour of Hainan Island International Road Cycling Race kicked off grandly. The event level is UCI 2.pro. It is co-sponsored by the State Sports General Administration and the Hainan Provincial People's Government, and co-organized by the Chinese Cycling Association, the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports, and various departments in Hainan cities.  

Quick overview of Stage 02

On the morning of April 10, the fourth stage of the Tour of the Island race started in Baoting. This stage comes to the decisive stage of the entire game, the "Baoting-Sanya-Ledong-Dongfang" stage. The total length is 190.8 kilometers, from the steep hillside in the first half to the gentle coastal track in the second half. There are 4 climbing points and 2 sprint points throughout the whole process. It is known as the "devil stage with the symphony of mountains and seas".

The fourth stage ushered in continuous climbing challenges at the beginning. The pace of today's race was very fast. About 10 kilometers into the race, the large group began to form a line and move forward. During this period, the players overtook each other or struggled to break through.

Challenge the first climbing point of this stage at 25 kilometers, where most sprinting riders are screened out, followed by a continuous descent, with the top speed reaching 80km/h, and the overall rhythm of the race increases again. During this period, the race situation was very anxious. Until 3 kilometers before the finish line, it was still difficult to decide the winner. In the final stage, a violent battle for the finish line was staged.

Throughout the stage, competitors were being eliminated at every climbing point. Australian player Cyrus found the right moment to break through smoothly and grabbed one second off for the team.

It is worth mentioning that German player Jonas and Australian player Cyrus always remained in the first group. The two played perfect cooperation in the fast and fierce competition rhythm, and struggled with the first group until they finally crossed the line.

Today, Chinese player Gao Yongbing performed normally without being disturbed by objective factors. In the first half of the race, he provided supplies to his teammates in the first echelon. In the second half, he stayed close to the first group and successfully completed the race, cooperating with his teammates to achieve good results.

The back was less ups and downs, and the pace was fast, and we needed to constantly break through. The wind was also very strong today, and the overall difficulty was not small. Because there is no absolute ruler in this race, anyone can do it. Everyone wants to win in this kind of chaos, so it is difficult to judge the direction of the event at the last moment. But the team members cooperated very well today, and our teamwork has explored a new way."
